Ruth Gaskell
Ruth trained at Eastbourne College of Art and did her degree at Maidstone College of Art back in the 80’s. Tracie Emin was in the year above her. Ruth really enjoyed studying fine art. Ruth has continued making her own artwork over the last eight years alongside raising a family.
Three years ago, from her home in Ditchling, Ruth set up after-school art classes for children. Her classes expanded to teaching groups of adults and running art workshops at Ditchling Museum. Ruth continues to teach art from her studio. Fascinated by the South Downs Ruth has drawn and painted them over the last four years. She also enjoys working with still-life and old tea cups have been a favourite subject for the past year.
